Anti-vaccine chiropractors 2

Before I include today’s example, I want to point out this new post on Diluted Thinking:  Chiropractic Board of Australia Cracks Down. The post includes a handy list of anti-vaccine chiropractors. Very handy for future use.

Amy Corderoy also wrote another article in today’s Sydney Morning Herald. I want to highlight this bit from the CBA head. Everyone should store this excerpt within easy reach. You will need it. A lot:

”We will not tolerate registered chiropractors giving misleading or unbalanced advice to patients, or providing advice or care that is not in the patient’s best interests,” chairman Phillip Donato said.

Dr Donato said chiropractors should only provide evidence-based treatment and anyone with concerns should report them.

Compare the above to anti-vaccine chiropractor Jennifer Barham-Floreani, in this ABC article, also published today. Looks like theys be shapin’ up for some dukin’ with the Board. We might need to start selling tickets. And crackers. And dip.

But high-profile chiropractors say they will continue providing information about both sides of the vaccination argument.

Chiropractor and author Jennifer Barham-Floreani says it will not stop her colleagues from giving patients advice.

“Chiropractors will certainly be working towards making sure that the information that they convey to parents is the latest, up-to-date information that presents both sides of the vaccination debate,” she said.

Anyway, back to today’s example.

This is awesome. There is so much crank in this photo I’m surprised is doesn’t just catch fire, and set fire to your computer, right here, right now. The last person to supply this much crank went for a stretch, then hung.

Billy DeMoss. Sherri Tenpenny. I kid you not.

DeMoss 23 Tenpenny“Who likes this one?” I hear you ask. You’ve met him before.

DeMoss 24 Gignac likes Tenpenny postTodd Gignac is a member of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia, and is based at Adelaide Family Chiropractic. He has appeared in these two posts for his interest in publishing – and then deleting, once he was caught – anti-vaccination misinformation on his Facebook page. He was going to give anti-vaccination seminars to parents. Now he seems to post pictures of his customers. Maybe the Board should look at that as well.

So, next time he posts some anti-vaccine nonsense I’m sure the CBA will be expecting a notification. It’s what they want, after all.

I am guessing that the CBA are going to be busy little beavers for quite some time.

My guess, they will get exhausted and give up.

It’s far more likely that they’ll continue to make noises against antivaxer quacks until the public and politicians stop noticing, then they’ll continue business as usual.

Here’s Billy DeMoss yet again on the supposed dangers of vaccines…

It’s worth remembering that DeMoss is due to deliver a ‘philosophical and motivational’ seminar at the New Zealand Chiropractic College’s Conference next month along with several other dubious DCs:

Yep, Tux, the CBA have no real interest in removing non – EBM from chiropractic as they would have no-one left.
